Queen Park Rangers’ manager Steve McClaren has praised Bright Osayi-Samuel’s performance in their 3-1 victory over Bristol Rovers in the second round of the League Cup on Tuesday.
Osayi-Samuel opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the encounter at Loftus Road, and was on parade for 83 minutes to help his side progress to the next round of the competition.
McClaren applauded the winger’s showing and the ‘great goal’ he scored.
“We said don’t play as individuals, play as a team and be ready – and in the first 20 minutes, they were certainly ready,” McClaren told club website.
“We controlled the game after that and I was delighted with some of the individual performances and as a team.
"I think Bright was the star of the show – he showed his pace, scored a great goal and was a constant threat the whole night.
"It shows the attitude and togetherness of the squad that they can come in, be disciplined, organized and focused and put in a performance like that. I'm delighted.”
Osayi-Samuel who joined the Championship side from Blackpool in 2017 has featured in four matches with one goal across all competition this season.
He is back in league action this weekend as QPR travel to St Andrews Stadium to face Birmingham.
