Lyon lead race to sign Chelsea’s Bertrand Traore

France Ligue 1 side Lyon are reported to be leading the race to sign Chelsea’s Burkina Faso attacker Bertrand Traore.

The attacker is currently in the dark about his future having returned to the Premier League champions after an impressive loan spell at Ajax.

Despite already signaling that he would like to return to The Blues and fight for a first team place, he is reportedly not in the plans of coach Antonio Conte.

French newspaper L'Equipe are claiming that Les Gones are confident of securing a deal with the 21-year-old and are hopeful of agreeing personal terms with Traore by the end of the week.

Lyon are also said to be at an advanced stage over the player's bonus structure.

Traore, who is valued at around £17million, featured 39 times for Ajax and scored 13 goals.

He was on the scoresheet for The Stallions on Sunday in their 3-1 win over Angola in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers opener.
