The 21-year-old American defender impressed in his La Liga debut, generating praise from his manager after Sunday's win against Las Palmas

American defender Shaq Moore's La Liga debut went about as well as he could have hoped. More helped Levante post a shutout in a big 2-0 road win against Las Palmas, and generated plenty of praise for his performance.

Among those praising Moore was Levante manager Juan Roman Lopez Muniz, who wasn't surprised to see the 21-year-old fullback play well.

"We never had any doubt," Muniz told reporters after Sunday's victory. "He’s a player that we’ve said for a long time that he’s young, he comes from the second team, that comes from a lower level, and the level in the first division is high, and he had a rival in front of high of high quality, but we knew he would do well.

"He’s a serious kid, disciplined, hard-working, with some important characteristics," Muniz said. "Physically. He’s a marvel, fast, he can handle the ball, so we didn’t have doubts that he would do badly. He was very calm in that position."

Moore made his way into the Levante starting lineup due to an injury to captain Pedro Lopez, and could be called on to start again next week when Levante takes on Atletico Madrid.
