Arsenal's Alex Iwobi sets English Premier League record

Alex Iwobi’s goal against Chelsea is so far the longest move for a goal in the 2018-19 Premier League season.

The midfielder struck his first goal of the campaign as Arsenal bowed to a 3-2 defeat at the Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s English top-tier encounter.

Iwobi rifled a cutback from Henrikh Mkhitaryan past Kepa Arrizabalaga to keep the scoreline levelled going into half-time.

And the Nigeria international’s effort ended a sequence of 19 passes, involving 10 of Unai Emery’s men, except Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, to become the longest move so far in the league this term.

Arsenal sit 17th in the log, having lost their first two opening games, and will hope to bounce back when they lock horns with West Ham United at the Emirates next Saturday.
