Fuelled by the support of the fans, an outstanding Reds side led by Robbie Fowler and Dietmar Hammann brushed aside their opponents to claim the crown in style

The IG Masters Football Sixes Singapore Cup 2013 ended on Sunday evening with Liverpool taking home the title after defeating the EPL All-Stars 7-4 in a thrilling final.

The tournament yielded plenty of excitement and goals as fans got to see past stars like Reds idol Robbie Fowler and ex-Manchester United striker Louis Saha take to the court at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The EPL All Stars had hoped to retain their title from last year's inaugural edition, but they were blown away by an imperious Liverpool side that won all their games en route to the final.

Led by Fowler, Dietmar Hamann, Patrik Berger and Vladimir Smicer, the former Kop idols were irrepressible as they thrilled the crowd, particularly their supporters, slamming in the goals and winning in style.

The Singapore team, who were losing finalists last year, were unable to replicate their heroics despite the inclusion of evergreen striker Aleksandar Duric. They capitulated to a 5-0 defeat by Liverpool in their opening game, but showed great improvement to put up a good fight with the EPL All Stars in a 5-2 defeat.

However, the Lions saved the best for the last as they shocked Manchester United 5-4 in their final game, with Duric getting on the score sheet. Lim Tong Hai, Nazri Nasir and Rafi Ali also featured amongst the goalscorers.

The Red Devils were the only team to lose all their matches in the competition, with a close 4-3 defeat by the EPL All Stars in the first game of the day and 7-5 to Liverpool later on.

Debutant Saha was a bright spark for Manchester United, scoring freely as he showed his finishing class. EPL All-Star Pierre van Hooijdonk retained his Golden Boot trophy as he once again top scored, while Czech star Berger took home the Most Valuable Player award.
