Singapore football fans were treated to their first ever Masters experience at the Indoor Stadium in October of 2012. Local football fans who came wearing Liverpool and Man Utd attire faced a change of heart as the competition got underway. a Fandi Ahmad and Abbas Saad-led Singapore side surprised Liverpool 5-3 in Game 2 and the duo would score all of the Singapore side's goals until Nazri's strike in the Final. With the home crowd firmly behind them, the Singapore team hoped to clinch the Masters Cup but unfortunately fell 5-3 to EPL All Stars in the Final. But their efforts did not go unrecognised, Fandi won the Player of the Tournament award for his 9-goal haul, just one less than Golden Boot winner Pierre Van Hooijdonk.
