Germany have confirmed Marco Reus will miss the World Cup due to an ankle injury.
The Borussia Dortmund player suffered a partial ligament tear in Friday's 6-1 friendly win over Armenia.
"It is extremely regrettable for him and for us. Marco was in excellent shape," said Germany coach Joachim Low.
"He was superb in our trainings camp and during our friendlies against Cameroon and Armenia. He showed real joy of playing. In all our thoughts regarding the tournament he played a major role."
Sampdoria defender Shkodran Mustafi has been called into the squad as Reus’ replacement.
