thumbnail Hello,

Roy Hodgson's side have been drawn in Group E alongside Switzerland, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania and San Marino, while reigning European and world champions Spain face Ukraine

England will face Switzerland, Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania and San Marino in their Euro 2016 qualifying group.

San Marino are familiar foes for England, having met in several recent qualification campaigns, while the Three Lions beat Slovenia in the 2010 World Cup and are unbeaten in their last eight matches against Switzerland, stretching back to 1988.

Hodgson spent four years in charge of Switzerland, qualifying for Euro 1996 but left before the tournament to manage Inter Milan.

"The name Switzerland always brings a smile to me face," said the England boss. "They were four fantastic years. It’s quite strange to get drawn in a group with them. They are a team we know reasonably well. I’m happy with that one."

Scotland, meanwhile, have been placed in Group D alongside Germany, Republic of Ireland, Poland, Georgia and Gibraltar - who are appearing in their first Uefa competition since becoming a full Fifa member.

Wales are in Group B alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Israel, Cyprus and Andorra, while Northern Ireland have put in Group F with Greece, Romania, Hungary, Finland and Faroe Islands.

Reigning European and world champions Spain have been drawn in Group C and will play Ukraine, Slovakia, Belarus, Macedonia and Luxembourg.

Hosts France, who qualify automatically, have been handed a tough test despite not competing for points, taking on Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, Denmark and Serbia, with minnows Albania and Armenia rounding off the group.
