The giant formation put together by members of the S.League took the centre-stage at the event on Saturday to usher in the start of the new seasonThe 2014 S.League season is getting underway as the Football Association of Singapore held its annual Luncheon as well as a showcase for fans, ahead of the season opener between Tampines Rovers and Home United on February 21.
The highlight of the event on Saturday afternoon was a formation of the words 'Our S.League' on the Jalan Besar Stadium pitch by club chairmen, players, officials as well as fans.
Football Association of Singapore (FAS) Advisor, Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee was the guest-of-honour for the day as the league also unveiled new initiatives for the 2014 season.
One of these new measures includes the issuing of clappers at every S.League match. The clappers will also feature team line-ups, photos and match statistics.
S.League CEO, Mr Lim Chin promised that the new season will be one to watch out for, stating: "The 2014 S.League season promises to be a whole new experience for the fans, not just in terms of footballing action but also in terms of match-day experience. We are delighted to have the support of our Marketing partners who have come forward and contribute to our new initiatives to enhance match-day experience."
The Tampines - Home United match will serve as the Charity Shield fixture as well, and kicks of 730pm at the Jalan Besar Stadium.
