Salim happy for Woodlands to face 'quality' Fulham Under-23 side

The friendly has been scheduled to serve as a curtain raiser to the Singapore Cup semi-final tie on the same night

Woodlands Wellington will have the chance to spar with the Under-23 side of English Premier League team Fulham FC when they go head to head this Friday at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Rams coach Salim Moin is looking forward to the game, which is part of Fulham's Southeast Asia tour.

"It is great that we are able to play a quality opponent like the Fulham FC Under-23 team," he said.

"There are players in the Fulham Under-23 squad who have been selected to be part of the first team such as Jack Grimmer and Charles Banya, and it would be good for our players to test their mettle against this team.

"Now that we are in the top six group, we would like to continue our good run and finish the S.League season strong."

The game will kick off at 5p.m as a curtain raiser for the second leg of the Singapore Cup semi-final between Global FC and Tanjong Pagar United, which will start at 7.30p.m.

Ticket holders for the Singapore Cup game will gain complimentary entry to this match.
