The United Football League (UFL), Philippines's top tier league, is scheduled to start its 2013 season on February 5 despite facing a possible conflict with national team fixtures.

With the Azkals scheduled to face Myanmar a day after the first UFL matchday, there is a possibility of clubs not releasing their players for national team duties.

Some teams refused to release players for the Azkals last year, but UFL marketing manager Coco Torre is keen to ensure that the same situation will not happen again.

"Clubs are to release their national team players for the international fixtures," Torre told interAKTV.

Global FC won the league title in 2012 on goal difference after finishing level on 42 points with Kaya FC.

Philippines Navy will be playing the new campaign in Division 2 after finishing at the bottom of the table with a measly five points from one win and two draws.

The Navy will be replaced by Pachanga Diliman Football Club, who gained promotion after emerging as Division 2 champions.

Although the league season will be starting in February, fans have had a chance to catch their favourite clubs in action in the nationwide PFF National Men's Club Championship, which started back in November.

The final will see non-league side Ceres FC taking on UFL club Pasargad FC, who finished sixth in the table last season, on February 5 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
