Park Chu-Young on Saturday became the first Korean to score in La Liga when he provided the winning goal in Celta Vigo's 2-1 victory over Getafe.
The South Korean international made a splash in his home debut, converting team-mate Michael Krohn-Dehli's assist in the 69th minute just after coming on as a second-half substitute.
With Korean players already making their mark in England and Germany, it seemed to be only a matter of time before success would be found in league of giants such as Real Madrid and Barcelona. The 27-year-old, on a year-long loan from Arsenal, was
"Park scored, and this is why we brought him from Arsenal," Celta Vigo coach Paco Herrera told reporters after the match. "He and Aspas created many chances. We have two fantastic strikers."
With the dramatic performance, Park could be in the running for his first starting lineup appearance next weekend at Granada.
