The 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup top scorer made an impact at the recently concluded competition by grabbing the tournament's only hat-trick and finishing as the top scorer with 5 goals.

Now, buoyed by his personal success and praise from coaches, Teerasil appears to have unlocked the door to European football.

The Muangthong United forward received several invitation letters from European clubs but will head to La Liga side Atletico Madrid for trials, revealed his father Prasit Dangda to Thailand.
"SCG Muangthong United told him to go trials with Atletico in January," said the elder Dangda.

"We're talking about this together and we think this is good and exciting. Even if they don't give him a contract at the end, it's still a good experience with such a top level club. We won't go wrong with this at all."
Besides Atletico, fellow La Liga side, Getafe, have also expressed interest and extended an invitation for a trial. But Teerasil's destination has been predicated by his current club's close ties with Atletico.

Getafe is another La Liga club that invites Teerasil for the trial, but Atletico Madrid is a partner of SCG Muangthong United - Teerasil's current club.

Some reports have also added that Muangthong Head Coach, Slavisa Jokanovic, will also follow the 24-year-old to Atletico to personally vouch for the player's ability.
