'This referee is very interesting' - Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic after the 1-0 defeat to Indonesia

The Serbian native felt that Singapore was undone by 'harsh' refereeing decisions and called upon his players to remain focused for their next game against Laos

After losing to Indonesia, ‘Raddy’ Radojko Avramovic has deflected some blame towards the ‘harsh’ refereeing, but ultimately askied his side to put the loss behind them and look to their next game against Laos.

“I am not under pressure," said Raddy.

"This game is finished and [we] must look forward to the next game. Win it and we go to the next round.”

“This means that if we have any ambition, we have to do it the hard way now."

Avramovic then took a slight dig at the Bahraini referee adding: “I think this referee is very interesting. He is funny in some way. From the start he was looking at our bench.”

“But that was a penalty [when Khairul Amri was brought down]! He put his leg in and that should be given.

“Some harsh decisions were made, especially in the yellow cards given.”

Despite losing both Hariss Harun and Irwan Shah to injury and suspension respectively, Raddy is confident there is enough depth in the squad and they will be able to cope with their absence.

“We won’t be short of defender," he said firmly.

"Shaiful won’t be ready for the next game but we got other players. Yes, Hariss is important but Shahdan had a good game and we hope he will do his job in  the next game."

Singapore will next take on Laos in their last Group B match on Saturday and a win will all but secure their berth in the semi-final.
