The Malaysian PM took to twitter to announce his expectations for his team for the tournament following the 3-0 defeat to Singapore
Prime Minister Najib, announced that the team needs to rise up and win the remaining AFF Suzuki Cup matches.
"Although yesterday's result did not favour us, we want the Harimau Malaya to rise up again," he tweeted via his official Twitter account.
"Malaysia, win your next matches."
The clear message by the Prime Minister will serve as a much needed tonic for the ailing Malayan Tigers who came up second best in a 3-0 defeat against bitter rivals, Singapore last night.
Malaysia will be up against a plucky Laos side on Wednesday night and will wrap up the group stage with a tricky tie against runners-up Indonesia on December 1.
