Myanmar's Kyi Lin has already stole the headlines after just one match, for his scene-stealing performance against Vietnam on Saturday evening, scoring the equalising goal.
But the nippy midfielder also became the source of personal agony for one his opponents. Vietnamese defender Dao Van Phong who was subbed out just after the start of the second-half after colliding with Kyi Lin, has been confirmed to have suffered fractured ribs.
Dao went down after challenging for a ball with the Burmese star and suffered breathing difficulties. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital in Bangkok where he was treated.
Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) General Secretary Ngo Le Bang confirmed the setback after the match in which his team drew 1-1. The Khatoco Khanh Hoa player is unlikely to play the last two games of the group stage and will likely only return to action in three weeks.
Vietnam next face Philippines on November 27.
