Aidil owns up and vows to bounce back

An apologetic Malaysia defender Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak has promised to learn from his costly mistake in the Malayan Tigers’ friendly draw with Hong Kong

Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak, the man culpable for Hong Kong’s late equaliser in the 1-1 friendly draw at the Shah Alam Stadium on Wednesday, has apologised for letting the team down.

The defender, whose mistake cost Malaysia their first victory in three games, has vowed to never repeat the same mistake again.

Speaking to, Aidil said: “I’m sorry for disappointing my team-mates. I accept it was my mistake but I will bounce back from it.”

“It wasn’t due to pressure. Pressure will always be there and we must know how to cope with it.”

A 58th minute Safee Sali goal meant that Malaysia were on their way to a much needed win when in the 89th minute, Aidil’s weak back-pass was intercepted by Lam Hok Wei, who then took the ball past the onrushing Khairul Fahmi Che Mat and rolled it into an empty net to tie the game.
