Phil and James Younghusband have joined up with the Philippines national team as they continue to prepare for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012.
The Younghusbands previously had a run-in with the management during the Peace Cup in September, but all differences seem to have been resolved and they look set to be part of the team which will take on Singapore in a friendly in Cebu on November 15.
“All this is a case of miscommunication, which is what we feel of the situation,” Phil claimed in an interview with Philippines newspaper Tempo.
“What is important now is that James and I have spoken to the team in detail about it, and I feel that communication is very important here.”
The striker added: “I am happy to be back. Everything is now in the past and we ought to look to the future and hopefully we will be in the national team in years to come.”
Coach Hans Michael Weiss has put aside the past and is prepared to make full use of both players for the tournament.
“Phil and James are now back and in a fully fit physical condition, and I can say that they are in a high competitive level," Weiss asserted.
“They have done all their homework and we shall see what they are capable of during the friendly against Singapore.”
