Timor's Brazilian coach Emerson was over the moon with his team's victory and compared it as a landmark to the nation's day of independence

Emerson (Timor Leste):
"East Timor achieved its independence twelve years ago, today we won our second game, and it is like an independence day for east Timorese football.
This victory is very important for our people, it can motivate Timor [as a country]. Maybe as many as 70% were following us. Football can help people's life and I believe today we made our country happy.
Laos is a very good team they move on the pitch very well, they made it very difficult for my team. However, today we were disciplined tactically, and that helped us a lot.
Yes, Murilo [who was booked], is a bit hot headed, but he is very important for our team and for my tactics."
Kimura (Laos) :
"I think tonight's loss was a bit unlucky, we actually did better than in our first game, especially in the first half, until we gave away that penalty.
We are playing four games in seven days, and they are all very important! This is so tough!
We could bring to Myanmar only twenty players. They are mostly young, and this is in any case a good
experience for them.
I thought some of those who did not play the first game were in better condition to play tonight, every player is important.
We have two more games, and we want to give 100% to win and qualify for the next stage. I still believe in my team, but we must take it one game at the time."
