The 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup draw threw up a nightmare path for former champions Singapore, being grouped with heated rivals Malaysia and regional powerhouse Indonesia. Rounding up the four-team Group B will be the second best-placed team from the qualifiers.

Here's what the players from the national team set-up had to say about the draw, which will see Singapore opening their campaign against Malaysia in a sure to be heated Causeway Derby.

Shahdan Sulaiman:
"Of course it's tough, against the defending champions, but we will be looking forward to the challenge."

Baihakki Khaizan: "AFF is a tournament where every team is to be taken seriously, it's a special tournament for all the teams. No matter how many friendlies you play against each other, the Suzuki Cup will be totally different, we have to take a different approach altogether. I think with good preparation and desire, we can be confident of our chances."

Sufian Anuar: "I'm not sure if I'm selected, but if I get to play I will give my best, Malaysia are our biggest rivals, and we really don't want to lose to them."
