The Ghana international has hailed his young team-mate as the benchmark for youngsters to aim for and has compared his transfer to Schalke to a relationship with a womanKevin-Prince Boateng feels Schalke team-mate Julian Draxler is arguably the best in the world in his age category and is happy to let the Germany international wear his beloved No.10.
The 19-year-old has already made over 100 official appearances for the Gelsenkirchen side and clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal are all closely monitoring the attacking midfielder's development.
"If you have a Julian Draxler wearing the number 10 in your squad, it's easy to take," Boateng told Sport Bild.
"He's the best player in the world at his age. Young players like him with so much talent deserve to wear the No.10."
Boateng then went on to discuss his summer transfer from AC Milan to Schalke and compared his switch to having a relationship with a woman.
"Schalke told me they'd like to sign me. And I told them that I'd like to make the switch," he added.
"For me, it's like a relationship with a woman.
"When you say you want to be together with her, and she says the same, you always find a way to make it possible.
"I'm currently dating Schalke."
Boateng made his official Schalke debut in the 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.
