The Germany international has returned to the training pitch again after being sidelined with a thigh injury in the closing stages of the 2012-13 season while at Borussia DortmundBayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has received some encouraging news on the injury front as Mario Gotze's recovery goes according to schedule.
The Germany international picked up a thigh injury in the closing stages of the 2012-13 campaign and then endured a recovery setback in training the week before the Champions League final, which kept him out of the showpiece at Wembley.
Gotze consequently missed the start of Bayern's pre-season, too, but the attacking midfielder is now edging closer to his comeback.
"My situation is ever-improving. I hope that I will shortly be able to play football again," Gotze was quoted as saying by Bild.
The 21-year-old resumed individual light training on Wednesday and is expected to resume regular training within two weeks.
