The 67-year-old feels that the former Germany international had no right to slam the Bavarians' display at the weekend and should have dealt with the situation differently

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has voiced his dismay with Matthias Sammer's criticism in the aftermath of their Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen at the weekend.

The sporting director publicly slammed the Bavarians' first-half performance at the Weserstadion, and even though he revealed later on that the had discussed the issue with the former Real Madrid boss, the experienced trainer has now made it clear that he was not amused with the sporting director's harsh words.

"I did not agree with the tone of Sammer's criticism and with the way he went public with it, and I have told him how I feel about that," Heynckes stated to Sky.

"It is important that your criticism is constructive. It has to be valid and well-reasoned in order to help people. Criticism should not be excessive and I believe that's the case here. He exaggerated.

"I also think he should have voiced his concerns internally rather than go public with it."

Bayern were beaten 3-1 by BATE in their first game after Sammer's words, and they will be looking to return to winning ways versus Hoffenheim on Saturday.
