The 23-year-old forward's contract extension talks have broken down and he has been linked with a move to Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund in the summerStuttgart's Julian Schieber may yet stay with the club despite the striker rejecting the offer of a new deal, sporting director Fredi Bobic has hinted.
The 23-year-old has one year remaining on his contract and has been heavily linked with a switch to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
But negotiations between the two clubs over Schieber's transfer fee have allegedly hit a snag, meaning the player could remain at the Mercedes-Benz Arena next season.
"I have a feeling the case can still turn around," Bobic was quoted as saying by Kicker.
"We do not want to sell and we will see what is possible with Julian. We have time."
Stuttgart are reportedly holding out for a fee of €8 million for the former Germany Under-21 international, but Dortmund value the player at only €6m.
Schieber scored three goals in 18 appearances for Stuttgart last season after a fruitful loan spell at Nurnberg, where he netted seven times in 29 games.
