thumbnail Hello,

The midfielder admits that Luiz Gustavo, Holger Badstuber and David Alaba will be missed, but he feels that Jupp Heynckes still has more than enough talent at his disposal

Bastian Schweinsteiger has played down the significance of the fact that Bayern Munich will go into Saturday's Champions League final against Chelsea without three key players through suspension.

Luiz Gustavo, Holger Badstuber and David Alaba will all miss the game at the Allianz Arena after picking up yellow cards in the second leg of the semi-final tie with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea have their own absentees as well, with John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Raul Meireles and Ramires all banned for the final, so Schweinsteiger does not believe that Bayern will be unduly handicapped by the unavailability of three regulars.

"It would definitely be better to have everyone available," the midfielder told reporters at a press conference. "But some people are not able to participate in the final.

"We've already played in a Champions League final before and we each have a few suspended players so I don't think it makes much of a difference.

"Luiz Gustavo has become a very important player; he's fast and good at one-on-ones, as we saw in Madrid. He's an excellent player and we'll miss him, as we will Holger Badstuber and David Alaba.

"But we have solutions. We'll see how it works out without them."

The Champions League final is scheduled to get under way in Munich at 20.45CET.
