France winger Franck Ribery believes his side should have no inferiority complex when they play Spain on Tuesday at the Vicente Calderon.

The former Marseille star acknowledges that the world champions boast plenty of quality, but urged his team-mates must remember they are also among of the heavyweights of European football.

"It's always special to play against Spain, they have great players and have dominated football in recent years," Ribery told reporters.

"We shouldn't fear Spain, though. We are still France. We will need to perform well in defence and are very motivated to get a positive result."

The playmaker also admitted to feeling a lesser burden to perform when he is praised by the French public.

“Everyone knows my qualities. Whether it's you [journalists], or the French public, everyone says I'm better. And it's true, I play more freely, more relaxed, less stressed and under less pressure.”
