Birmingham boss backs English-born Ghanaian Arthur to excel

Lee Clark is backing his young player of Ghanaian descent to shine in the coming years

Birmingham City manager Lee Clark has backed English-born Ghanaian striker Koby Arthur to come on strong again.

The 17-year-old attacker has struggled to force his way into regular reckoning after making his breakthrough at the end of last season. Injury niggles have hampered his progress, but Clark said his tender years should also be taken into account.

“Koby has been training well and he will come back again,” Clark commented. “We have to remember that someone like Koby is so young. These boys are going to be up and down in their level of performance, that’s natural.”

“Koby and the other youngster are learning all the time. They are showing a great attitude.”

Arthur scored a fine solo goal in the 3-0 win over Tipton in midweek. Liam Truslove got the other two.
