Blackpool have signed Newcastle United midfielder Dan Gosling on loan until January 1.
The Championship club have drafted the 23-year-old in as cover for the injured Barry Ferguson.
Ferguson underwent ankle surgery on Monday and the acquisition of Gosling will bolster the options available to manager Paul Ince.
Gosling, who began his career at Plymouth Argyle before catching the eye at Everton, signed for Newcastle in 2010.
He has struggled for first-team football at St James' Park, though, making only 28 appearances, including five in the Europa League.
Gosling, who has featured just twice this season, can be recalled by his parent club after the first 28 days of the loan deal.
He is likely to slot straight into Blackpool's squad for their fixture against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
