An 81st minute finish from Junior Stanislas earned Burnley a home win against Crystal Palace. The Eagles slipped into fourth place as a result, joint on points with fellow promotion prospects Leicester and Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough slipped down a place after their 2-1 home defeat to Watford. Hornet's Striker Matej Vydra netted in each half before the hosts managed a consolation effort in stoppage time through Scott McDonald.
Barnsley, who are still without a manager following the dismissal of Keith Hill, coasted to an impressive 2-0 win against Leeds United at Oakwell Stadium. The victory sees the hosts finally climb off the bottom of the table after Bristol City's loss.
Elliot Ward scored in the 83rd minute to give Nottingham Forest a 2-1 victory against Peterborough United. The striker on loan from Norwich cancelled out Manchester United loanee Scott Wooton's goal as the vistors drop closer to the relegation zone.

Tranmere retained their spot at the top of the table with a 2-0 home win against Crawley Town. David Amoo opened the scoring with a close-range shot before Zoumana Bakayogo doubled the lead with a deflected striker off goalkeeper Paul Jones leaving the visitors in 9th place.
Doncaster are breathing down Tranmere's necks as they sit joint on 53 points in second place after their 2-1 away win at Stevenage. Rob Jones scored a dramatic stoppage-time header to give all three points to Rovers.
Scunthorpe earned an impressive 2-1 win away at Colchester thanks to a 25-yard belter from Jimmy Ryan and a comfortable finish by Andy Barcham. The victory means that the away side finally move out of the relegation zone while Colchester fall into the danger area in 21st place.
Bury earned a 1-1 away draw with play-off hopefuls MK Dons thanks to a Steven Schumacher volley. Dean Bowditch initially put Dons ahead with a curled shot but the visitors battled hard and rise to 22nd place as Portsmouth's match with Notts County was postponed.

Exeter shot into the automatic promotion spots with a dazzling 3-0 win at home against Northampton. John O'Flynn scored in each half and Scot Bennett saw his looped header cross the visitors' goal-line.
Relegation-threatened Wimbledon were denied a third straight league victory following their 1-1 draw with Wycombe. Matt McClure salvaged a 72nd minute equaliser for the visitors to cancel Paul McCallum's first-half double.

Manager of the month Gary Rowett spurred his side to come back from a goal down after Calvin Zola netted his 12th goal of the season, cancelling Ryan Jarvis' first half finish. Matt Paterson scored the winner to send the home fans celebrating.
