Crystal Palace won 3-0 against long-time rivals Brighton, aided by a Lewis Drunk red card in the opening ten minutes for the Seagulls. Glenn Murray capitalised by finishing in each half and then selflessly giving up his chance for a hat-trick by allowing Owen Garvan to net a penalty for the third goal.

Watford continued their impressive run of form as they thrashed Barnsley 4-1 at Vicarage Road. Matej Vydra, Mark Yeates and Troy Deeney were amongst the goalscorers, with Marcus Tudgay adding a late consolation late on for Barnsley.

Blackpool also put four goals away as they beat Peterborough United 4-1. All the goals came in the second half as loanee Wes Thomas opened the scoring for the Seasiders.

Wolves were the third team to score four goals as they kept Bristol City at the bottom of the table in their 4-1 away win. This time all the goals were in the first half as Former Manchester United Syvlan Ebanks-Blake and Irishman Kevin Doyle contributed to the attack.

Ipswich scraped three points at the Reebok stadium in their 2-1 win against Bolton. Goals from DJ Campbell and Michael Chopra moved the away side three points clear of the relegation zone after Mark Davies initially put the Wanderers 1-0 up.

Goals from Joel Grant and Gareth Ainsworth put Wycombe 2-0 up at home to Bristol Rovers, who were never able to make their way back into the game at Adams Park.

York edged Rochdale in a five-goal thriller at Spotland thanks to two first-half goals from Michael Potts and one by Jason Walker. Potts pounced to score from close range before Walker toe-poked the ball past the keeper. Rhys Bennett and Bobby Grant scored for the home side.

An Abu Ogogo own goal gave Torquay all three ponts as they marginally beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1. Matthew Saunders equalised for the away side after a Danny Stevens opener.
