Manchester City finally clinched the title on the last day after it had looked like Liverpool were set to end their 24-year wait for glory, while Sunderland were able to breathe easily after pulling off their great escape in the middle of last week.

City and Liverpool players dominated the individual stats as the likes of Yaya Toure, Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard ran riot, there was a familiar face topping the fouling charts and Manchester United fans continued to turn out in their droves despite a poor season.
