Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has told Sandro he is “not good enough” after the Brazilian midfielder was left out of the squad entirely in the 3-1 home win over Fulham on Saturday.

Sandro informed his Twitter followers before kick-off that he was “not injured” before the 25-year-old failed to even claim a place on the bench for the London derby.

“What he’s stated is correct, he’s not selected at the moment. I don’t think he’s good enough to be in the side at the moment,” said Sherwood.

“When he shows me that he is and he’s at the level of the other players, then he’ll get back in. But at the moment, he’s not up to be in our squad so he’s left out.

“He can bang on the door all he wants, I don’t have a problem with him. He’s right what’s he’s tweeting. He can tweet what wants.

"He is being honest, not telling lies, not being disrespectful to me."

Sandro responded almost immediately on Twitter, saying: “Lol lol lol ...”

The Brazil international has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season.
