The Blues boss also played down talk of Chelsea winning the Premier League once again, and admitted he was surprised to see Arsenal beaten 5-1 by LiverpoolChelsea manager Jose Mourinho has called Manchester City a “Jaguar” after his side moved ahead of Manuel Pellegrini’s men to the top of the Premier League table.
The Blues beat Newcastle 3-0 on Saturday to move a point clear of Arsenal and two points ahead of Manchester City, who lie third after drawing 0-0 with Norwich at Carrow Road.
Mourinho described his side as a “little horse” following Monday’s 1-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium leading Pellegrini to hit back claiming Chelsea are a “very rich” horse.
However, the Portuguese has now continued the discussion after watching Eden Hazard hit a hat-trick as the Blues claimed all three points at Stamford Bridge.
“It's time to kill the horses," he told reporters, "Manchester City is a Jaguar. You cannot put an 'L' plate on a Jaguar."
Despite going top of the league, Mourinho once again played down talk of his side winning the title, insisting he was focusing on finishing in the top four at the moment
"I want to secure a Champions League position and the further we are from fifth place, then we can begin to think about other things,” he added.
“For now, my concern is increasing the gap between ourselves and fifth.
"We are happy with what we are doing and at this moment in time we are top. That is great, but we want to play well and improve and that is it."
The Chelsea boss also admitted he was surprised by Saturday's result, with Arsenal being beaten 5-1 by Liverpool at Anfield and City failing to beat Norwich.
"Big results are always surprising, of course they can happen but always surprising, you never expect such a big result [as Liverpool's 5-1 win]," he added. "Everybody knows Anfield is not an easy place to play, it can happen to anyone.
"The other matches are matches where you can show that you are better or you can have a difficult situation.
"Norwich is not easy, we beat them there in the last minutes. When it happens to City it is more surprising [because] their attacking power is amazing."
