Holt: Weimann and Benteke coming good

The on-loan striker has watched his new Aston Villa team-mates score four goals between them in their last five games and believes that they will only get better
Aston Villa striker Grant Holt has backed fellow forwards Christian Benteke and Andreas Weimann to maintain their excellent recent form.

The duo struggled in the first half of the season but have scored five goals in Villa's last four matches to fire Paul Lambert's side into 10th place in the Premier League.

Holt, who joined on loan from Wigan in January, has been impressed by his attacking colleagues and believes that they are starting to find the form that saw them share 26 league goals last season.

"It's all about just getting the confidence back up for them," the 32-year-old told The Birmingham Mail.

"When you're not scoring, some forwards take it to heart a little bit. It takes away from your game, you start thinking about the goals and I think that's what's happened.

"But they're now doing things that probably they did last year and just came naturally. They're doing little things and tricks and even in training you can see it's coming off.

"I'm sure that, between now and the end of the season, you'll see the best of those two."

After joining Villa in January, Holt is still looking for his first goal for the club and he hopes that Saturday's match with West Ham will see him break his duck.

"It would be nice to score," he added. "It doesn't matter where it is or where it comes it would be nice to get a goal.

"I'm hoping in the next couple of games and months I can do it."
