Spurs sit sixth in the Premier League table, three points adrift of Liverpool in fourth place, and are set to welcome Everton - one point ahead of them in the race for the Champions League - on Sunday, with Vertonghen keen to "bounce back".
"We have to bounce back in an important game against Everton," the 26-year-old told the club's official website. "We have to be ready for that.
"I want to finish the season strongly now.
"Hull was my first game in two months. I don't suppose you can expect to win everything and play every ball to the right player in the first game but I'm back and getting stronger."
