The Scot reunited with his former Norwich City charge on Tuesday, recruiting him temporarily from Wigan, and could hand the 32-year-old a debut against Liverpool.
Despite both forwards' physical approach, Lambert sees no reason not to pair them together and is happy with the variety of options available to him.

|11/1||Christian Benteke is 11/1 with PaddyPower to score the first goal in Liverpool v Aston Villa|
"I wouldn't have a problem with playing Christian and Grant together. I think they would bring a physicality to things.
"When you look at their physicality allied to Gabby [Agbonlahor]'s speed and Andi [Weimann]'s endeavour, there are a lot of options there."
Holt echoed the Villa boss's positivity, enthusing: "[Benteke] is a great player. He's a fantastic player. It's another big year for him. I am sure he will come on in leaps and bounds.
"You have Gabby also, one of the quickest I have seen. He can stretch anyone in the division and there's Andi too, who has great effort and endeavour and can score goals, no doubt.
"We have some talented players. I am sure we will get goals."
