The two midfielders have been linked with a January move away from Spurs and shone in a training ground match on Tuesday morning as Tim Sherwood ran the rule over his squadErik Lamela and Lewis Holtby shone for a Tottenham XI on Tuesday morning, both grabbing a goal in a 10-6 friendly win over Charlton.
The Argentina international has found first-team football hard to come by in his debut season at White Hart Lane but stepped up his recovery from a thigh complaint with a goal at the club's training base.
Lamela has been linked with a January return to Italy, while his German team-mate Holtby - who also scored on Tuesday - has sought talks with new manager Tim Sherwood over his future, as Goal exclusively revealed.
Nevertheless it did not stop a reserve Spurs side running riot against Charlton. As well as goals from Lamela and Holtby, Nacer Chadli bagged two, while academy product Jon Obika netted six times.
Holtby joined the club in January 2013 and has made 21 appearances this season, scoring three times, while Lamela has seen action on 17 occasions, scoring once against Tromso in the Europa League.
Both midfielders struggled to earn a starting place in Andre Villas-Boas's side and are experiencing similar issues since Sherwood was handed the reins.
