Pochettino rules out Shaw exit

Tottenham and Chelsea are interested in the 18-year-old but the Southampton manager insists the left-back is happy to remain with the club
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino insists the club will not listen to offers for Luke Shaw in January.

Goal exclusively revealed in November that the left-back has attracted interest from Tottenham and Chelsea, while Southampton are preparing for offers for the 18-year-old at the end of the season.

Shaw has made 14 Premier League appearances this season as Southampton sit ninth in the table, and Pochettino is adamant the defender is happy to remain at the club.

"It's pretty clear what the situation is, Luke Shaw has come out and said he doesn't want to go anywhere,” Pochettino told the club’s official website.

"He's very happy here and doesn't want to go anywhere else.

"I think all these rumours coming out are not positive for him and not positive for the club.

"The club's stance as well is that we don't like negotiating on something we're not interested - selling him.

"He's a very young player it is time to progress and improve and we are not willing to sell Luke Shaw.”
