thumbnail Hello,

The left-back acknowledges that potentially more vital games await afterwards but wants his side to give everything in an attempt to surprise Manuel Pellegrini's title-chasers

John Arne Riise says that Fulham will be pushing to cause an upset when they face Manchester City on Saturday.

Though the Cottagers' matches after the visit of the Premier League high-flyers will see them face teams in similar positions towards the bottom of the table, the left-back does not want to hold back against Manuel Pellegrini's men.

Though his side are ranked as outsiders against City, the visitors have lost to the likes of Cardiff City and Aston Villa on the road this season and Riise is optimistic about springing a surprise.

"It's not a game people will expect us to win but we're prepared to go out to try and get the victory," the defender told the club's official website.

"We want to go off the pitch on Saturday having given our all.

"City isn't an easy game and the three games after that [against Norwich City, Hull City and West Ham] are probably bigger for us as they're against teams around us in the table.

"Those three games are massive but we'll certainly be aiming to cause an upset against City."

Fulham have not beaten City since April 2009, a run that stretches back to 2005 in home games.
