The Manchester United forward has reportedly rejected opening talks over a new contract and our readers believe that signals a possible end to his time at Old Trafford
The Red Devils have been struggling in the league under new manager David Moyes, currently sitting ninth in the table and 13 points behind leaders Arsenal.
But striker Wayne Rooney has been arugably their brightest spark, with eight goals in 13 league games, and looks a revitalised player after it appeared as if he would be leaving before the season started.
However, the 28-year-old England international has recently refused to entertain the club's latest attempts to open talks over a new contract. This is despite his contract running out at the end of next season, which has lended fresh impetus to the notion that he is set to leave Old Trafford.
That is the conclusion that the majority of Goal Singapore readers have come to, with 85% believing that Rooney is destined to leave Old Trafford. Among those readers, 29.3% think that Rooney could exit the club as soon as January when the transfer window re-opens, while 55.8% feel that he will leave at the end of the season. Only a minority 15% feel that the striker will eventually stay on.
Chelsea were known to have made two bids for Rooney in the summer, with Arsenal reportedly also interested back then, and it will be interesting to see if any clubs make advances for Rooney again.
