Bolasie to serve three-match ban after FA rejects red card appeal

The midfielder was given a straight red card for his challenge on Hull City's Jake Livermore and will return from suspension for the club's trip to Chelsea on December 14
Crystal Palace midfielder Yannick Bolasie will serve a three-match ban after the appeal to overturn his red card against Hull City was rejected by the Football Association.

The 24-year-old was dismissed for a challenge on Jake Livermore in the 78th minute during Palace's 1-0 victory over Steve Bruce's side at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

A statement from the FA read: "The claim in relation to Bolasie, who was dismissed for serious foul play during his side’s match at Hull City on Saturday, was unsuccessful therefore his three-match ban remains with immediate effect."

Victory for Palace, who confirmed the appointment of Tony Pulis as their new manager on Saturday morning, lifted them off the bottom of the Premier League table to 19th, but the club are still level with bottom-placed Sunderland on seven points.

Bolasie will now miss Pulis' first game in charge against Norwich City on Saturday, as well as fixtures against West Ham and Cardiff City. The midfielder will return from suspension for Palace's trip to Chelsea on December 14.
