The 28-year-old winger was charged with failing to give information relating to a driver and/or excessive speeding on March 7 and will stand trial in the new year

Manchester United midfielder Ashley Young will face a court hearing in January after being charged with two separate driving offences.

The charges relate to an incident on March 7 in which the 28-year-old was allegedly travelling at 70mph in a 50mph restricted zone.

The England international was reportedly caught by a speed camera on the M6 Toll near Curdworth in Warwickshire.

Warwickshire Police confirmed to Goal that Young has been charged with failing to give information relating to a driver and/or excessively exceeding the speed limit.

The police added that the former Aston Villa winger will face trial at Leamington Spa magistrates court on January 10.

Meanwhile United face Premier League leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, and head into the clash eight points behind the Gunners and three outside the top four.
