The charges relate to an incident on March 7 in which the 28-year-old was allegedly travelling at 70mph in a 50mph restricted zone.
The England international was reportedly caught by a speed camera on the M6 Toll near Curdworth in Warwickshire.
Warwickshire Police confirmed to Goal that Young has been charged with failing to give information relating to a driver and/or excessively exceeding the speed limit.
The police added that the former Aston Villa winger will face trial at Leamington Spa magistrates court on January 10.
