Arsene Wenger's men finally lost for the first time in 12 matches as they fell 2-1 in the Champions League amongst other unexpected results in the competition
A late Robert Lewandowski goal in the 82nd minute condemned the Gunners to defeat after Olivier Giroud had cancelled out Henrikh Mkhitaryan's opener, and also ended their 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Goal Singapore readers voted the loss by Arsene Wenger's men as the most surprising result out of four games, with 43% indicating it was the most unexpected. Barcelona's stumble at AC Milan was the second favorite choice at 32.7%, after the Catalans drew 1-1 at the Italian side with Lionel Messi equalising after Robinho opened the scoring. The other two results were Celtic's 2-1 triumph over Ajax (14%) and Porto's 1-0 defeat to Zenit St Petersburg (10.3%).
With three more games to go however, Arsenal are still on course to qualify for the next round even with the defeat. In the meantime, they will look to bounce back against Crystal Palace this weekend when the English Premier League resumes.
