Rosicky to miss friendly against Israel

The captain will not take part in the Euro 2012 warm-up game due to a bruised muscle, and sports manager Smicer says that the important thing is to focus on getting fully fit

Tomas Rosicky is set to miss Czech Republic's friendly against Israel on Saturday because of a calf injury.

But Czech sports manager Vladimir Smicer made it clear that he hopes that the 31-year-old will be ready for next week's game against Hungary, but stated that the most important thing is that the Arsenal man is fit for the championships.

"Maybe he will be ready for the match against Hungary but we want the bruise on the calf muscle to be healed completely so he is entirely fit for the tournament," he told news website

Rosicky is an integral part of his national team, contributing 20 goals for his country in 85 appearances.
