Zimbabwean forward Knowledge Musona has Kaizer Chiefs and German outfit TSG Hoffenheim going neck-and-neck for his signature.

He was on-loan at Chiefs from Hoffenheim last season and came close to steering them to their second successive Premiership title, but an ankle injury halted that proceeding from taking place.

Now, Hoffenheim want him back while Chiefs want to keep him permanently. Musona's representative Mike Makaab of ProSport International is at this stage uncertain where the 23-year-old will play his football next season as they are still locked in negotiations with potential suitors.

"We are still in negotiations with the likes of Chiefs and Hoffenheim and other interested parties across Europe too for his services," he told Goal. "We want what's best for him and most importantly we want to take him to a place he prefers more than anything. So, we are looking at all his prospects from here (the PSL) and abroad." Makaab added.

A fee in the region of R10 million is being requested by Hoffenheim for the services of the deadly marksman and it will be interesting to see if Amakhosi budge to this fee.

Mamelodi Sundowns have since withdrawn from the race and that leaves Chiefs as the only club who want to bring the striker back to the PSL for a third spell.
