Kaizer Chiefs legend Kungwane passes away aged 43

Kungwane was popular among football fans in South Africa, and his death has certainly come as a huge loss to football in this country
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Isaac 'Shakes' Kungwane has passed away following a short illness. The legendary midfielder reportedly spent the last two days of his life in ICU, and his death was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon. 

His colleague at SuperSport International Robert Marawa broke the shocking news on his Twitter account on the same day.

"After being in ICU for the past two days it's really sad to have to announce the sad passing away of a brother & colleague RIP Shakes Kungwane," tweeted the Radio and TV sports personality.

Kungwane became popular during his days at AmaKhosi where he spent almost a decade as a player before moving to Manning Rangers in 1999.  

He worked as a football analyst for SABC Sports before joining SuperSport International a few years ago.
