thumbnail Hello,

The Nigeria international has admitted that he is not happy with his bench role on loan to Liverpool from Chelsea

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses is ruing his lack of playing time at Anfield though he believes that Liverpool can shock the pundits and win the English Premier League.

“The main thing is to be on the pitch and enjoy football. That’s always been on my mind – to play games,” Moses said to Liverpool Echo.

“There was only a little spell at Wigan when I first signed there and I wasn’t in the team every week.

“I’ve always gone to places for the football, places where I’m going to play. By playing, you learn,” he added.

Moses has made eight appearances including three substitute appearances for the Reds following a deadline day switch to Anfield from Chelsea and he admitted that his all-round play must improve to force himself into a constant starting berth at Anfield.

“It might seem I’ve been around for a long time but I’m still only 22.

“I think I can develop a lot more but I realise to achieve that I’ve got to play as much as possible.”

Liverpool are currently second on the league table, four points behind Arsenal but the Nigerian believes his side can overhaul the Gunners and win their first title since the 1989/90 season with the influence of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

“There’s a lot of quality here and if we can keep the momentum going, I think we can challenge for the Premier League (title) and if not finish in the top four.

“You have to believe you can be the best, otherwise there’s no point in trying.

“He [Rodgers] is a great manager to play under. He’s very clear with the players. He knows what he wants us to do.

“There’s a winning mentality but he also realises that if we are enjoying ourselves, we’re likely to do better,” he added.
