Chiefs striker Musona faces up to eight weeks on the sidelines

Kaizer Chiefs will have to play their next few games without striker Knowledge Musona who could be out for up to eight weeks due to a shoulder injury

Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona could miss up to two months of football due to a shoulder injury he suffered over a week ago.

The 23-year-old Musona fell on his shoulder after scoring with a diving header against Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout Cup in Qwaqwa, and he immediately asked to be replaced.

He missed the Soweto Derby this past weekend, and Goal has learnt that the Zimbabwean international could be out of action for up to eight weeks although he could return just after six weeks.

Musona is on a season long loan at Chiefs, and he was starting to regain his goalscoring touch again, as he has netted four goals in his last six appearances for AmaKhosi.

The news will come as a massive blow to Stuart Baxter and his technical team who have just started believing in Musona despite initially struggling to adapt in the team.

However, AmaKhosi have enough cover in that department with Lehlohonolo Majoro, Kingston Nkhatha and Bernard Parker all fit to take up the role.

Chiefs’ next game is against Ajax Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium on November 5, and Baxter will be hoping for a better result than the one he got against the Urban Warriors down in Cape Town last season.
