The Manchester City midfielder will be sidelined for the Elephants international friendly against Mexico after picking up an injury
Reigning African Footballer of the Year Yaya Toure will not be taking part in Wednesday’s international friendly between his side Cote D’Ivoire and Mexico due to injury.
Coach Sabri Lamouchi is aiming for a favourable outcome to improve the Elephants’ Fifa ranking after they dropped five places recently. He immediately summoned Romaric N’dri Koffi of French side Bastia to replace Toure, but the former Sevilla midfielder was reported to have missed his flight.
The friendly will be held on Wednesday, August 14 at the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, with former Chelsea star Didier Drogba participating after he was called back to the Ivorian team following his recent improved form.
