The Elephants’ captain has been included in the squad to face Mexico on August 14 in a friendly match
Didier Drogba will make a comeback to Ivory Coast's national team on August 14 during an international friendly against Mexico at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Coach Sabri Lamouchi unveiled his list of players for the match on Wednesday, saying he was convinced the former Chelsea talisman has recovered his brilliant form after he helped his side Galatasaray to win the Emirates Cup.
Drogba has not played with the Elephants since their debacle at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Ivory Coast have qualified for the final phase of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers but will wrap up the second round at home against Morocco on September 7.
Two newcomers appear on Lamouchi’s list: 21-year-old attacking midfielder Bobley Anderson, who recently joined Spanish side Malaga from WAC Casablanca, and Anderlecht’s 22-year-old striker Cyriac Gohi Bi.
